Elderberry Tonic DIY Dry Kit
All you need to add is water and honey (or sweetener of your choice)! This is the same ingredients as my pre-made tonic, minus the garlic and elderflower. I suggest adding raw garlic to your boiling water as it is more potent. Of course, you can leave the garlic out if you prefer. We typically do 3-5 garlic cloves per bag, but it is 100% based on your taste preference.
Are you a DIY type of adventurous personality? Me too (obviously)! That is why I decided to bring you my elderberry & honey tonic in a kit version if you don't want to buy it pre-made. If you do want to buy it pre-made then please see my other listing for my Elderberry & Honey Tonic. This is also a little easier to travel with! This is very simple to make, so have fun! I suggest adding RAW and LOCAL honey to your mix if possible, but any type of honey will work (or maple syrup for children under one year)
UNIQUE INGREDIENTS:
Organic black sambucus nigra elderberries
Organic echinacea
Organic ceylon cinnamon
Organic ginger
Organic turmeric
Organic astragalus
Organic rose hips
Organic cloves
Organic Hibiscus
Dash of pepper for absorption
DIRECTIONS
Bring five cups of water to a rolling boil. Reduce to a simmer and add package contents to water. Cover and let cook for 30 minutes on a low simmer. Let cool and mix in 1/2-1 cup raw honey (the more honey you add the longer the tonic will be preserved in the fridge). This makes approx. 32 oz of elderberry tonic. Always keep refrigerated since there is no preservatives added in. These instructions are printed on the back of the bag as well.
SIZING & SERVING SUGGESTIONS
This is a large family sized bag, it makes approx 32 oz of tonic. Once made it has 64 servings if taking 1 tbsp a day and 192 servings if taking 1 tsp a day.
Adults typically take 1-2 tbsp a day and children under 12 typically take 1-2 tsp a day, But remember this is a food so you can't take "too much". We have been known to take 1 oz every few hours when we needed to.
Do not give honey to children under one year.
